If it’s a match, we’ll send you an offer detailing the terms of your participation, including Code Coven's ethical commission.

Gain access to tailored learning modules, feedback on milestone assignments, and exclusive playtesting and pitching events during our asynchronous accelerator.

FAQ

Where is this program located?

This program is hosted entirely online.

What is the cost of the program?

There is no upfront cost for applying to or participating in Aurora, however, Code Coven will receive a commission on any deals they broker.

What information and materials do I need for the application?

To apply for Aurora, you will need:
✨ Company name
✨ Link to company on Companies House (UK registration)
✨ Information about your team, including how many people on your team are of a marginalised gender, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and of a marginalised ethnicity
✨ Information about your leadership team, including how long you've worked together and past completed projects
✨ Links to your company's website and social media, if available
✨ Information about your game, including the working title, game summary, and what platforms you are developing for
✨ Link to your playable vertical slice
✨ Video of two (2) to three (3) minutes of unedited gameplay
✨ Pitch deck
✨ Production roadmap
✨ Budget spreadsheet
✨ Video explaining how your team and game would benefit from Aurora, no more than 5 minutes long

What happens after I apply?

We will reach out to you within 60 days of submission. If you make it to the next round of reviews, we'll invite you for an interview

When is the application due?

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis. You will hear back about your application within 60 days of submitting.

What does being "of a marginalised gender" mean?

This includes but is not limited to trans/cis women, trans men, non-binary and gender-nonconforming people. Please read this article for more information and contact us at hello@codecoven.co if you are unsure.

If I’ve applied before and wasn’t chosen, can I apply again?

We welcome you to apply again if you feel that you've made improvements on your application and/or game.

What is the time commitment?

Expect to spend six hours a week working on Aurora, which includes watching learning modules, attending meetings, and working with your mentors on funding applications.

Who is eligible for Aurora?

You are eligible if:
✨ Your studio is a registered business in the UK
✨ At least 50% of your studios leadership is of a marginalised gender
✨ You are 18 years of age or older
✨ You can commit to completing learning modules and milestone assignments, and attending all required meetings
✨ You have a vertical slice of your game
✨ Your  team has a history working together on a completed project*There is no requirement that the participant be of a specific race, ethnicity, or nationality to enrol in the course. Studios of any size may apply. *A completed project does not have to be a commercially shipped game.
